Biomass briquettes are molded materials with a certain degree of density, and are produced as follows. Lignocellulosic raw materials are crushed into particles of appropriate size, and then the particles are compressed to rod-like, nubbly, or granulous materials without either heating or adhesive under the conditions of 50–200 MPa and 150–300 C (Jin et al., 2013).
